4D Views CONCEPT

4D Views system is composed of several cameras spatially calibrated.

First the studio is captured empty. Then the subject is captured. By using subtraction algorithm the subject
silhouette are created then used to generate a 3D mesh. Any background color can be used but to not be
confused with subject color, and for best result Digi-Cast is using a digital green background.

After the mesh generation the texture is created from the captured videos data. The texture can be blended during
4D Views post-processing (Digi-Cast side) or during the rendering (in Maya or 3dsMax) using the scene camera
angle keeping the best quality (customer side).

The system is capturing at 24, 25 or 30 fps. Each frame is generating a new mesh with a new single blend texture
(i.e. baked) and a set of 48 images to be used for blending on rendering side using DCA (Dynamic Color Assign-
ment) shader.

The DCA shader is included in the plug-in for Maya and 3dsMax. It works with Mental Ray and 3delight.

The baked texture can be at a resolution of 512x512, 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 pixels.
